Rate of Pay: 24.12 - 32.22 per hour
Summary:
As a Senior Substance Use Worker you will join an innovative integrated team dedicated to providing a holistic trauma-informed wrap-around service for young people in Islington. This role sits within the YCSMAS team working alongside the Youth Justice Service Targeted Youth Support and the Violence Against Women & Girls service. You will act as a senior leader within the team managing substance use practitioners overseeing referral pathways and providing specialist clinical guidance to multi-agency professionals. You will balance supervisory duties with a small specialized caseload and lead the development of training and outreach initiatives for the service.
Responsibilities:
- Directly manage and supervise three substance use practitioners including the delivery of reflective practice
- Support the development and succession planning of team members across the HR & OD Service and wider Council.
- Develop and deliver substance use training programs for professionals parents and young people.
- Manage case recording systems and the referral and allocation management system ensuring all data is accurate and up to date.
- Ensure full compliance with GDPR Health and Safety and safeguarding legislation including the Children Act 1989 and 2004.
Qualifications:
- A recognized qualification or equivalent extensive experience in substance use work and assessment
Essentials:
- Extensive knowledge of issues facing children and families affected by substance use including the Hidden Harm agenda.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience working with and engaging children and young people in various settings including those in the youth justice system.
- Proven experience in undertaking complex assessments and designing evidence-based care plans using motivational interviewing techniques.

- You should have right to work in U.K
- This role requires an Enhanced DBS
