The Director of Product Design is responsible for leading the vision strategy and execution of user-centered design across the organizations product portfolio. This role oversees design teams drives innovation and ensures the delivery of intuitive high-quality user experiences that align with business objectives and customer needs.
The ideal candidate is a strategic design leader with a strong background in product design user experience and team development capable of influencing product direction at an executive level.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the overall product design vision strategy and roadmap
- Lead and mentor a team of product designers UX/UI specialists and researchers
- Establish and maintain design standards systems and best practices
- Collaborate closely with product management engineering and marketing teams
- Drive user-centered design processes including research prototyping and usability testing
- Ensure consistency and quality across all digital products and platforms
- Advocate for user experience and design excellence at the leadership level
- Oversee design reviews feedback cycles and continuous improvement initiatives
- Integrate data and user insights into design decisions
- Manage design resources budgets and timelines effectively
- Stay informed about industry trends emerging technologies and competitive benchmarks
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelors degree in Design Human-Computer Interaction Computer Science or a related field required
- Masters degree or advanced certifications in UX/UI or design leadership preferred
Experience
- 10 years of experience in product design UX/UI design or related fields
- 5 years of leadership experience managing design teams
- Proven track record of delivering successful digital products and scalable design systems
Skills and Competencies
- Strong expertise in user experience (UX) user interface (UI) and interaction design
- Proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as Figma Sketch or Adobe XD
- Deep understanding of design systems accessibility standards and usability principles

Compensation
- Annual Salary Range: $160000 to $220000 USD depending on experience Certification and qualification
