Job Summary

Title: Early Childhood & Lower School Administrative Liaison The Miami Valley School (MVS). Early Childhood and Lower School Administrative Liaisons are educational leaders who help refine a truly differentiated educational opportunity as MVS becomes a nationally-recognized leader in experience-based learning. The Lower School Administrative Liaison at The Miami Valley School performs diverse administrative functions that promote the successful day-to-day operation of the Lower School division and the school. They coordinate organize oversee and perform everyday clerical and administrative duties associated with school operations. They also provide secretarial assistance to the directors and serve as a liaison between students staff and Opportunity. As the EC & Lower School Administrative Liaison you will have the opportunity to make an impact in the MVS :Embrace the vision of The Miami Valley SchoolDemonstrate an ability to develop rapport with other members of the MVS CommunityCommunicate with caregivers both orally and in writing effectively and oftenFulfill all other faculty responsibilities that may occur during the school year the school day which include but is not limited to: Caregiver Information Night (CIN) Promotional Ceremonies GraduationAttend/ Help Organize Monday AssemblyPerform other duties as assignedEmbrace the five essential traits of an excellent MVS employeeTo compassionately engage inspire and nurture studentsTo demonstrate passion for teaching and learningTo be an effective communicator who demonstrates a collaborative and collegial spiritTo enthusiastically and actively support the school community its mission and core valuesTo demonstrate knowledge and expertise in teaching methodology and contentPrimary Responsibilities:Oversee coordinate and perform day to day administrative functionsPrepare and maintain student records and ensure that they are updated on a regular basisProvide secretarial assistance to the directors by relieving him or her of administrative tasks such as composing typing and editing letters and bulletinsUpdate and review school newsletters memos and agendas and notification systemsUpdate Canvas/Blackbaud to keep both students and families informed of events and informationUtilize Blackbaud to manage student informationAttend and create Division meetings minutes properly and forward to designated staffUpdate and edit the weekly newsletter for Early Childhood School and Lower School faculty and staff also known as The Week AheadManage credit card purchase orders and authorizationsRelay information to staff and students using a variety of mediumsAnswer telephone calls and transfer calls to the appropriate recipients direct visitors and caregivers to correct school personnelMaintain students attendanceFacilitate with purchasing food items for a variety of school functionsProvide support in new teachers and office staff orientationWork with the Division Directors to coordinate substitute teachers and record hours worked on HR form for faculty absencesSupport January Immersion TermKnowledgeable in all Google Drive platformsMaintain the Early Childhood School and Lower School Faculty and Staff Canvas/Blackbaud PageAct as the liaison for troubleshooting technology issues quickly with FacultySupport current Ohio Department of Education requirements for Preschool ODE documentation for the Early Childhood School and teacher ODE documentation and :Undergraduate DegreeDemonstrate computer literacy and proficiency (e.g. Google suite of applications student information systems and online grade book programs such as Blackbaud and Canvas LMS)Desire to work with teenage students in an experiential and hands-on settingBenefits.
