Marshfield Medical Center is seeking an Urgent Care / Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team in Marshfield Wisconsin. The NP or PA is a skilled member of the health team who provides medical and educational services to patients under the supervision of a licensed physician according to Nurse Practitioner Protocol and within the scope of the Nurse Practitioner License in the State of Wisconsin. This individual works within a cooperative department utilizing team effort with health care providers co-workers and the public to provide positive patient interaction.Summary
The Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner provides advanced nursing care to patients presenting with a wide range of acute urgent and emergent medical conditions in the Emergency Department. The NP works collaboratively with physicians nurses and other healthcare professionals to deliver efficient high-quality patient-centered care.Job Description
Perform comprehensive patient assessments including history physical examination and diagnostic testing. Diagnose and treat acute illnesses and injuries such as fractures infections cardiac events respiratory distress trauma and other emergent conditions. Order interpret and act upon diagnostic tests such as labs EKGs imaging studies and monitor patient progress. Develop and implement treatment plans including medication prescriptions procedures and referrals to specialists as necessary. Provide wound care suturing splinting and other emergency procedures within NP scope of practice. Stabilize patients in critical condition and initiate emergency interventions as appropriate. Educate patients and families on diagnoses treatment plans follow-up care and preventive health. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR). Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with hospital policies protocols and regulatory standards. Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care and disposition decisions (admission discharge or transfer). Stay current with emergency medicine best practices and continuing education requirements.Qualifications
