We are looking for a hands-on Senior Financial Controller to join our hotel management company who will play a key role in strengthening the finance function of both the hotel management company and the hotel portfolio it manages and act as a strategic financial partner to the leadership team and this role you will bring structure to reporting provide strategic insights and help guide the business through its next phase of expansion. The role
This role combines conventional accounting and finance activities with strategic financial insight and analysis for both the hotel management company and its hotel portfolio making this a true business partnering role. As a Senior Financial Controller you will ensure accurate reporting maintain governance and compliance and provide our leadership team and shareholders with clear financial insights to support strategic decision-making.

Key responsibilities include:

Financial & team leadership
  • Leadafinance teamof2to ensure deliverables are met within deadlines and to a high standard.
  • Support and mentor team members to promote professional development.
Reporting financial planning & operational finance
  • Manage month-end closing processesincluding accrualsandsupporting reconciliations to ensurea high levelof accuracy and compliance.
  • Manage periodic reporting processes to ensure internal and external stakeholders receiveaccurateand meaningful reporting within deadlines including budget vs actual analysis cashflow projections andconsolidatedfinancial statements in line with IFRS.
  • Manage annual auditprocess to ensure completion within agreed deadlines.
  • Support with the preparation of annual budgets including presentations to stakeholders to achieve sign off within agreedtimeframes.
  • Manage payment processes including invoice approvalscoordinatingpayment runsreleasing payments in bank accounts and supporting with payroll review and approval.
  • Ad-hoc financial analysisforinternal and external stakeholders.
Governance statutory reporting & tax
  • Ensure all group entitiesremaincompliant with local statutory reporting and filing regulations.
  • Oversee tax compliance ensuring filings and paymentsto made within deadlinesacross all entities.
  • Ensure debt and equity structures are correctly implemented andmaintained.
Banking & cash management
  • Holdkey banking relationshipsensure robustinternalcontrolsare implementedandmaintainedandoversee useraccess rights.
  • Ensurecompliance with externalfacilityagreementsand support onrefinancing activitiesincluding reviewing interest and fee calculations.
  • Liquidity management includingcoordinating drawdownsand repayments on external debt facilities shareholder capital calls and distributions and debtor and creditor management.
Projects & business support
  • Provide support onhotel acquisitions and disposals includingsetting upaccounting and financesystems and processes for new hotel openings and acquisitions and supporting with transition activities for hotel disposals.
  • Assistthe development and operations teamswith finance related aspects ofhotel refurbishmentsandpre-opening activities.
  • Review and improve financial processes and controlsto ensureefficienciesanda high levelof governance ismaintained.

What we are looking for
  • Aproven background(10 years ofindustryexperience)infinancial and management accountingincludingexperience in the hospitality industry.
  • Chartered accountancy qualificationis.
  • Knowledge of both local European GAAP and IFRSis.
  • Proficiencyin Microsoft applicationsin particularExcel. Experience with Exact andLucanetaccounting softwareorsimilar is preferable.
  • Experienceleading finance teams.
  • A confident personality with strongstakeholder management skillsandthe ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Ahands-onmentality and ananalytical mindsetwith strong attention to detail.
  • Fluency inEnglishisrequiredand Dutchis preferred.
  • You are legally allowed to work in the Netherlands.
