Hours: Full-time 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

Salary: Up to 60000 per annum (depending on experience)

About the Role

Were looking for a technical expert to take ownership of all things electricity across our Water operations. This newly created position offers a unique opportunity to lead influence and make a lasting impact on how we manage electrical systems and safety.

As our Senior Authorised Engineer you will act as a delegated authority Electrical Duty Holder and provide strategic leadership across our MEICA operations. Youll ensure compliance with statutory regulations oversee high-voltage systems and keep our people safe. This is a pivotal role in our transformation journey where your expertise will help us deliver safe reliable services to millions of customers.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Own and lead all electrical safety responsibilities across Water Resources & Production.
  • Manage health and safety risks particularly those associated with high-voltage systems.
  • Line manage a team of three technical experts in mechanical and electrical engineering providing guidance and development.
  • Track and manage electrical risksfrom quick fixes to major investment decisions.
  • Act as the technical escalation point for electrical safety issues.
  • Maintain and update our Electrical Safety Rule Book and competency frameworks.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure best-in-class safety standards.

Additional Requirements:
Participation in incident support rotas may be required and will be discussed during the interview process.

What youll bring to the role:

Essential

  • Chartered Engineer status or MIECA membership
  • Extensive experience managing HV and LV systems in industrial environments
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills
  • Proven ability to manage electrical safety and compliance
  • Excellent risk management and stakeholder engagement skills

Desirable

  • Experience in developing competency frameworks
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance and safety standards
