Job Summary

We are looking for a compassionate enthusiastic educator who strives for excellence demonstrates empathy and values teamwork and empowerment.
Reporting to the Centre Director the School-Age Classroom Educator acts as an essential member of the Kids & Company team supporting the daily operations of the schoolage room and upholding our mission: to provide highquality primary and backup child care services that help families achieve worklife balance.
Responsibilities
Driving & Transportation Duties
Ensure the safety of children while driving them between school and the centre.
Maintain a clean safe and wellkept company vehicle
Conduct vehicle safety checks and follow all transportation policies and procedures
School-Age Classroom Duties
Ensure the health safety and supervision of schoolage children at all times
Plan lead and participate in ageappropriate activities that support social emotional cognitive and physical development
Support childrens behavioural emotional and social needs using positive guidance practices
Maintain daily attendance health and safety checks and all required documentation
Communicate professionally with families providing updates and support
Collaborate with external professionals (Speech Therapists OTs Early Interventionists) when necessary
Support children during transitions into and out of the classroom/program
Participate actively in team meetings professional development and training
Maintain a clean organized and engaging classroom environment
Specifications
Valid Alberta Drivers License
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong collaborator and team player
Ability to take initiative in program planning and classroom support
Ability to push pull and lift up to 45 lbs
Clean driving abstract
Qualifications
Early Childhood Educator Certification (Level 2 or 3 required)
Criminal Record Check / Vulnerable Sector Check
Valid Standard Child Care First Aid & CPR Level B
Experience working with schoolage children is an asset
