Teknion Custom Solutions is a leading manufacturer of high-quality custom wood office furniture. We are looking for a reliable Beam Saw Operator to join our team. This key role is responsible for making the initial rough cuts on sheet goods that allow our manufacturing line to keep moving.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Read and interpret shop drawings and job instruction documents
- Perform measurements with accuracy
- Knowledge of and the ability to identify different building materials such as MDF particle board plastic laminate and others
- Examine materials for flaws and imperfections before processing to optimize material efficiency
- Understand and perform machine operations: setup troubleshooting maintenance and lockout
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Employ safe and appropriate material handling and lifting techniques for wood furniture to prevent damage and injuries
- Understand and consistently apply standard safety rules and procedures.
PREREQUISITES
- High school diploma or equivalent; OR at least 3-5 years of experience as a machine operator in a wood shop or manufacturing environment
- Energetic and enthusiastic attitude thriving in a collaborative team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Approaches work with a high degree of organization safety and attention to detail
- Must be able to organize workload and prioritize activities based on key responsibilities
- Communicates effectively in English both in writing and verbally.
