We are currently seeking a Sourcing and Quality Engineer focusing on the Supply Chain to join the Daktronics Divisional Manufacturing team. Below are just some of the reasons for considering this opportunity.

Where is this opportunity located

This individual should reside within commutable distance from Brookings South Dakota. Much of the work for this position can be done from a home office; however a successful candidate will need to be available in Brookings or Sioux Falls locations for events such as supplier visits in-person collaboration etc. on a regular basis.

To be considered for Sourcing/Supplier Quality Engineer we require the following:

• Bachelors degree in Engineering Manufacturing Operations Manufacturing Engineering Technology or science-based degree plus experience or equivalent from a college or technical school.
• Ability to lift up to 45 lbs. Be able to stand or sit for the entire shift.
• Effectively exercise discretion and independent judgment.
• Working knowledge/experience in Lean Manufacturing Quality and Six Sigma implementation.
• Strong oral and written communication skills good organizational skills and self-motivation are required.
• Ability to read analyze and interpret general business communications governmental regulations industry standards and technical procedures drawings and specifications.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management employees customers and suppliers.
• Ability to travel overnight to domestic and international locations.
• Advanced computer skills including experience with Word Excel PowerPoint and digital photo editing.
• The selected individual must be able to travel by air and ground and comply with the Daktronics Driver Eligibility Policy to begin and maintain employment. This requirement will be verified through a motor vehicle record (MVR) check conducted in accordance with applicable federal state provincial and local laws.
• Fluent in English written and verbal.
• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.

Desired traits

• Experience with various quality tools such as 8D FMEA DoE SPC and various problem-solving tools.
• Experience with ISO 9001 requirements.
• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) Certified Supplier Quality Professional (CSQP) or equivalent.
• Proficiency in statistical packages (such as Mini tab).
• Familiarity with Daktronics products and internal processes and computer systems.
• Three to five years of experience in product design engineering.
• Three to five years experience in Quality Engineering in a manufacturing environment or Supplier Quality is preferred.
