As a Co-Op student you will support the design development testing and evaluation of electrical and software components and systems that support Coats product lines. Assist with software development activities quality control efforts and engineering reviews. Coats is based in LaVergne TN- about 15 minutes outside of Nashville TN.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Review returned warranty components categorize issues and perform accurate data entry and analysis.
Conduct testing and analysis on electronic components to identify failure mode and determine root causes.
Summarize findings and communicate weekly results to the Quality and Warranty teams to support corrective actions.
Assist in the development and documentation of test procedures and testingmethodologies.
Participate in software issue tracking change reviews and continuous improvement activities.
Collaborate with Design Engineering Service Quality Engineering and Manufacturing teams to resolve technical issues.
Support Value Engineering initiatives to improve product performance and cost efficiency.
Complete a meaningful engineering project within the co-op/internship timeframe .
Foster and maintain positive effective working relationships with all team members.
EDUCATION SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Must meet all Coats Internship Application requirements.
Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering (required).
Rising Junior or Senior preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and spreadsheet-based data analysis.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing priorities effectively.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment .
Hands-on mindset with a strong interest in practical problem-solving.
