Position Summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic skilled and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join the Plastics Burns and Hand Therapy Stream located at The Alfred. The role is predominantly based in the Victorian Adult Burns Service providing assessment and early intensive rehabilitation to patients on the burns ward in intensive care and outpatients. There is also opportunity for a small outpatient or inpatient hand therapy caseload.
Working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team you will provided excellent person-centred interventions related to burn and upper limb injury and contribute to interdisciplinary goal setting to achieve optimal patient care. This role will require strong communication and teamwork skills the ability to work flexibly and to utilise your comprehensive assessment skills under the guidance and support of the senior clinician.
At a Grade 2 level Occupational Therapists are required to display autonomy of practice whilst also demonstrating a commitment to patient-centred care collaborative practice and evidence-based knowledge translation. Grade 2 clinicians have an important role in leading various teaching/training and quality improvement activities across the Occupational Therapy Service and are responsible for the supervision and mentoring of junior Occupational Therapy staff Allied Health Assistants and/or undergraduate students. You will be well supported by an experienced Grade 3 senior Occupational Therapist including regular supervision and access to professional development opportunities.
