Position Summary
We are seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Non-Invasive Cardiologist to join the practice in Hilo Hawaii. This opportunity allows the physician to provide advanced cardiac care to a diverse and underserved patient population while enjoying an exceptional quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
Manage outpatient and inpatient cardiovascular care
Interpret non-invasive diagnostic studies: echocardiography (TTE TEE) stress testing nuclear cardiology Holter/event monitors and EKGs
Provide consultative services to hospital and emergency department
Collaborate with primary care providers and specialists to ensure coordinated care
Participate in quality improvement education and cardiac program development
Optional teaching and community outreach opportunities
Requirements
MD or DO
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiovascular Disease
Proficient in non-invasive diagnostics (Echo Stress Testing; Nuclear preferred)
Eligible for Hawaii medical licensure
Strong clinical skills and patient-centered care approach

Required Skills:
Conduct patient evaluations histories and physical exams for new and follow-up cardiology patients Manage and monitor patients with cardiovascular conditions such as hypertension coronary artery disease atrial fibrillation heart failure and hyperlipidemia Order and interpret diagnostic tests including EKGs Holter monitors echocardiograms and stress tests Assist in care coordination for procedures or specialty referrals Provide inpatient cardiology consults and follow-ups (if applicable) Participate in hospital rounds discharge planning and transitions of care Educate patients and families on lifestyle changes medications and disease management Collaborate closely with supervising cardiologists primary care providers and support staff
Required Education:
Current and unrestricted license as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in Hawaii or eligibility to obtain one National certification (AANP ANCC or NCCPA) BLS and ACLS certification required 12 years cardiology or internal medicine experience preferred; strong new graduates with relevant rotations or RN cardiology background considered Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Comfortable working independently with physician support EMR experience
