Assistant Teaching Professor position beginning Fall 2026. The position is a 4/4 teaching load split between teaching Accounting and Economics courses in hybrid online and in-person modalities. Candidates may have the opportunity to teach in the MBA program and may be asked to teach at branch campuses in the surrounding communities of Wausau and Marshfield. Strong candidates will have a demonstrated ability to teach at the undergraduate and graduate level and have professional experience in accounting business or economics. Candidates will be expected to either conduct scholarly research or engage in professional activities related to their field to achieve retention standards and an appropriate accreditation (AACSB) faculty qualification status. Candidates will also be expected to perform service to UW-Stevens Point and the Sentry School.
The Sentry School of Business and Economics (SSBE) is one of the largest programs at UWSP and includes four areas: accounting business administration data analytics and economics. The Sentry School has been on a very positive trajectory with enrollment growing by over 50% since 2019. In 2022 the school was named after a large gift that also paved the way for a building project to be the new home of the Sentry 2021 the Sentry School achieved a full five-year extension of accreditation by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International). The Sentry School has approximately 25 full time faculty positions 1100 undergraduate majors and 60 MBA students. $65000 minimum annually based on qualifications and experience
Masters degree (MAcc MBA MS/MA etc.) in a relevant field (Accounting Economics Business etc.) from an AACSB or equivalently accredited college or university or other high-quality institution.
Prior teaching experience at the undergraduate and graduate level in accounting business and economics across different course modalities (in person online hybrid point-to-point).
Prior professional experience in accounting business or economics applicable to the position.
Demonstrated ability to conduct scholarly research or engage in professional activities.
