Job Summary

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Neighborhood Partnership Manager the Partnerships Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operations and implementation of Feeding San Diego partner and member agency food distribution this highly interactive role the Partnerships Coordinator will work with faith-based organizations non-profits colleges and food donors to establish and maintain positive relationships within the agency network. The Partnerships Coordinator is responsible for the efficient coordination of safe and dignified food distributions from donors to community partner (agency) to the public (people in need).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Other comparable duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed. Occasional evening or weekend work is required as a condition of employment.

Maintaining Partnerships

  • Work closely with agency partners to ensure strategic and effective daily maintenance of food distribution programs
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with local partners ensuring compliance with all local state and national food safety and monitoring standards and Feeding America program regulations
  • Ensure food safety standards are maintained at all agency partner sites and during donation hand-off at the retail store level via effective training consistent communication and periodic compliance visits
  • Coordinate pick-up logistics from food service locations throughout San Diego County to non- profit partner agencies
  • Maintain databases related to agency relations including retail pick-up schedules agency and donor feedback donor opportunities and key contacts via Feeding Americas web platform
  • Identify agency partners who may need material resources; aid agencies for such things as grant opportunities client-choice transitions capacity building and dignified distribution ideas
  • Initiate in-person connections with community-based organizations that can help FSD connect more food to more people

INTERACTION

The Partnership Coordinator will interact closely with Food Sourcing Donor Development Marketing & Communications and Operations departments as well as volunteers and agency partner staff.


Qualifications :

EDUCATION/YEARS OF EXPERIENCE

Bachelors degree and food safety training preferred or High School Diploma/GED along with previous experience working in a nonprofit or public facing service role including moderate level computer skills.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word PowerPoint Excel and Outlook
  • Knowledge of nonprofit organizational practices
  • Passion for and commitment to Feeding San Diegos mission to alleviate hunger and food insecurity
  • Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines
  • Proficient verbal written interpersonal organizational and public speaking skills
  • A professional demeanor with an aptitude for problem-solving and critical thinking
  • Possess solid relationship-building interpersonal skills and a mature understanding of cultural competence
  • Technical acuity to learn the use of Salesforce Ceres Smartsheet MealConnect and data management programs
  • Demonstrates good judgment and exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to quickly resolve conflict using tact sensitivity and discretion
  • Responsible well organized and demonstrated initiative
  • Excellent customer service skills both in-person virtually and on the telephone
  • Accurate and detail-oriented; possess strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a complex and fast-paced environment
  • High degree of independence flexibility initiative and commitment
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service with patient and professional representation in the community

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED

Standard office equipment and machines such as telephone personal computer multi-function copy machine and 10-key calculator. Possible training and use of FSD Sprinter vans.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

Must have reliable transportation and possess and maintain a valid California drivers license a satisfactory driving record including proof of personal vehicle insurance coverage and insurability under the Agencys insurance carrier standards.

Must be able to obtain and keep Food Handlers Certification at Manager level

PHYSICAL MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that an employee will be asked to successfully perform to fulfill the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly expected to:

  • Work in an office adjacent to a warehouse setting with occasional travel to other locations in San Diego County.
  • Prioritizes and multi-task work and projects requiring good memory concentration and analytical thinking.
  • Occasionally required to perform the safe operation of office equipment and machines and recognize and abate safety hazards within the workplace.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet but this office is maintained in a distribution center with machinery and large trucks.
  • Perform work outside at food distributions which require standing and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Occasionally lift carry and balance objects weighing up to 30 pounds.
  • Operate the FSD Sprinter vans when needed.

PAY & HOURS

$22.00 - $26 per hour

Field - 2 days/week in FSD office 3 days/week in field occasional evenings and weekends
