Job Summary
Spring Season Greenhouse Worker
Reports to: Production Manager/Lead
Summary:
This positions primary responsibility is planting new seeds/cuttings/bulbs maintenance of crops and picking and packaging of finished products.
Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
- Filling pots with soil taking cuttings sticking planting pinching disbudding spacing moving pots putting in spaghetti tagging hanging baskets
- Putting UPCs on packaging as required select plants cover and sleeve pack into boxes or on carts
- Keep work area clean
- Assists in loading product is required
- Ensure the health and viability of the product
- Follows all relevant safety rules
- All other duties as assigned
Education:
- None required
- Tow motor training an asset
Qualities Skills and Experience:
- Ability to work individually as well as part of a team
- High flexibility with strong interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse environment
- Fast learner
- Flexibility and initiative to undertake various duties and roles
- Good comprehension of English to take direction
- Ability to operate puller a strong asset
- Ability to operate tow motor (must have training) a strong asset
- Bilingual in English and Spanish a strong asset
Working Conditions:
- Standing/walking/driving/reaching/bending
- Repetitive motions
- Pushing/pulling carts
- Lifting moving or manipulating objects up to 50 pounds
- Periodic overtime required. Flexibility required in case of emergency conditions
- Periods of high heat and humidity or cold
Season: March 30 2026 to May 30 2026
Workday: Monday to Saturday and Sunday if required
Hours of work: 7am to 5:45pm with a potential to work later if required
