Job Duties

• Interacts with co-workers visitors and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
• Recognizes the patients their family/designated care partner(s) in providing safe compassionate and coordinated care based on respect for patients personal preferences priorities needs and cultural beliefs and values.
• Minimizes risk of harm to patients and others by following established nursing practices and protocols and individual performance.
• Uses information technology to communicate manage knowledge mitigate error and support ethical decision making.
• Continuously and attentively monitors patients cardiac rhythms and pulse oximetry accurately interpreting and communicating baseline variations to Registered Nurse.
• Collects data and documents interpreted rhythms and significant events during shift. Completes required reporting.
• Maintains equipment and assists with application return and troubleshooting escalating according to established procedures if necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

• Cultural Awareness Knowledge of people with diverse backgrounds and the ability to convey respect and connect effectively.
• Health Information Documentation - Knowledge of the relevance of health information and appropriate documentation methods ability to record medical histories symptoms vital signs medications diagnoses treatment plans procedures tests and medical results in written or electronic form. (THNU0290)
• Patient Safety - Knowledge of the risks faced by patients in a healthcare environment and the ability to take steps to reduce these risks. (THNU0300)
• Life Support - Knowledge of the process taken to restore and maintain essential physiological functions and the ability to apply these processes in a patient care situation. (THNU0320)
