Job Summary
Under the general supervision of the Executive Director the Special Education Teacher supports students with special needs by delivering instruction aligned to district curriculum implementing IEPs monitoring progress and fostering a safe inclusive learning environment that promotes academic social and daily living skills.
Positions:
6-8th Grade Special Education Teacher (English only)
2-4th Grade Special Education Teacher (Spanish Required)
Prek-1st Grade Special Education Teacher (Spanish Required)
Duties & Responsibilities
Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify student needs and inform instruction.
Develop and implement IEPs and behavior plans in collaboration with staff and families.
Monitor and document student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
Collaborate with teachers administrators and outside agencies to support student success.
Communicate effectively with students and families; serve as a liaison between home and school.
Maintain accurate records in compliance with district procedures and legal requirements.
Support school initiatives family engagement and student activities.
Participate in professional development and ongoing learning.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
Knowledge of special education practices assessments and differentiated instruction.
Understanding of federal and state special education laws.
Ability to analyze data and develop instructional plans.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English required.
Ability to build collaborative relationships with staff students and families.
Education & Experience
Valid Minnesota teaching license in Special Education.
Spanish fluency (academic or native proficiency preferred).
Must pass a criminal background check and meet all district requirements.
