About the Role

As a Data & BI Engineer you will design build analytics applications in addition to the definition maintenance and growth of the data pipeline in our PLM & Quality Systems domain. The systems you build and work with will solve business challenges that focus on Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) & Quality Systems at Harman. You will be Full Stack in your projects where you will build the pipeline data and Business Intelligence (BI) analytics for them.

For example you will immediately jump into the development and maintenance of our Quality Analytics portfolio focused on extractions from Opcenter placed in Snowflake that power our QLIK dashboards for defect management (warrant 0km Field Supplier Validation failures) while also building out new data pipelines and applications focused on both PLM & Quality Data.

The role is not transactional. It is focused on building Business Solutions based on real Problem Statements with freedom to create fit-for-purpose data pipelines and analytics applications that you will own as part of the citizen-development group. You are expected and encouraged to stay on with the latest and greatest technological trends to create value in your designs and in the business application.

You will work on businesscritical Analytics and Data Solutions that integrate with PLM ERP MES and Quality platforms enabling Engineering Manufacturing Quality and Program teams to manage complex product data in a controlled and traceable way. The problems you will solve are systemic dataintensive and crossfunctional.

While lowcode platforms (e.g. Mendix for Apps QLIK for Analytics) are part of the technology stack this is not a configuration or scripting role. You will be designing maintainable scalable solutions. Lowcode is used to accelerate deliverynot to replace engineering discipline.

You will leverage Analytics technologies (ex. QLIK) along with Data Lake and warehouse solutions (ex Databricks Snowflake Microsoft Fabric etc.) to build and create complete well-rounded solutions in partnership with other HARMAN departments.

What You Will Do

• Own various areas of the Analytics and Data Products for Quality & PLM systems
• Partner with Business Stakeholders and members of the larger configuration PLM and quality teams to execute projects related to data products reporting and analytics
• Own the fit for purpose and scalable definition of the projects to ensure business value is created
• Design build maintain and improve data products related to Quality Systems in enterprise systems (Ex. Warranty Design Defects problem solving)
• Design build maintain and improve data products related to Quality Systems (Change Management BOM & Product Data Gating Project Statuss)
• Design build maintain and improve QLIK reporting to expose Data Products for use in business processes metrics and KPIs.
• Develop scalable pipelines (ETL/ELT Orchestration Cataloging Staging) to ingest PLM/Quality data from Teamcenter Opcenter Quality ERP/MES etc.
• Execute meshing of data and data staging for consumption to Analytics Tools (ex. QLIK) and Custom Applications (ex. Built in Siemens Mendix)

What You Need to Be Successful

• Bachelors degree (or equivalent professional experience) in Computer Science Software Engineering Information Systems or a related technical discipline.
• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in data engineering building information in data lakes and warehouses such as Snowflake Fabric Databricks etc.
• 3-5 Years of hands-on experience building applications in QLIK Power BI etc. with data created in Data Warehouse and Lake Solutions.
• Proficiency with programming languages Python and SQL
• Demonstrated practice of quality controls and documentation practices
• Demonstrated experience with CI/CD for making updates to central data solutions including version and history control
• Strong UX Skills to present data in a clear concise and valid way
• Experience working with modern cloud data stacks that run the data engineering ecosystem

• AIAG Certification

• Masters Degree

• Experience with Agile Methodologies

• Experience with Teamcenter other PLM Applicationsand enterprise systems
• Experience with QMS Systems (ex. Siemens Opcenter)

• CMII Configuration Management certification (Certified or Professional)

• Professional certification in change management / project management

• Knowledge and application of continuous improvement philosophies
