Ashland Middle School is seeking a dynamic and student-centered educator to serve as a Long-Term Substitute for 6th Grade Social Studies for the remainder of the school year. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging instruction maintaining a positive classroom environment and ensuring continuity of learning for students during the teachers leave.
Responsibilities
Plan and deliver daily Social Studies instruction aligned with Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks
Implement existing curriculum pacing guides and instructional materials
Maintain a structured supportive and inclusive classroom environment
Monitor and assess student progress and provide timely feedback
Maintain accurate records of attendance and grades in Aspen
Communicate effectively with students families and colleagues
Collaborate with grade-level teams special education staff and related service providers
Uphold all school and district policies and expectations
Qualifications
Bachelors degree required; degree in History Education or related field preferred
Massachusetts teaching license in History/Social Studies (58) preferred
Experience working with middle school students preferred
Strong classroom management and organizational skills
Commitment to inclusive practices and meeting the needs of diverse learners
