Job Summary

Department Overview

This position provides direct supervision guidance and leadership for departmental activities for the effective and efficient use of personnel to accomplish company and departmental goals.

Function/Duties of Position

  • Planning and developing departmental activities including performance standards workload distribution trend analysis and alignment with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective systems to provide departmental support in such activities as goal setting payroll review annual reviews and staffing levels.
  • Monitoring overall departmental performance and transaction status identifying areas of improvement and corrective actions needed.
  • Communicating with staff and Manager to ensure efficient and effective department operations.

  • Collaborating with OHSU departments insurance companies and patients to request information needed to complete account transactions address urgent requests and/or resolve outstanding account issues.
  • Coordinating activities policies and procedures between internal departments.
  • Utilization of reporting tools to identify trends and/or issues and problem resolution.
  • Facilitate leadership and training opportunities for departmental staff including goal setting.
  • Promote and implement LEAN processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Four years of experience in a medical billing environment.
  • Extensive analytical skills and the ability to clearly communicate decisions procedures and processes to a diverse group of people.

  • Accurate data entry skills ability to work with deadlines while remaining calm flexible and organized.

  • Excellent communication both written and verbal and listening skills.

  • Able to use reason and logic to independently solve problems and to multi-task as needed.

  • Proficiency with standard office equipment and software such as such as Microsoft Office knowledge of Healthcare Information Systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associates degree in Business and/or Healthcare Administration or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Two years of experience in a leadership position in a medical billing environment.

  • Demonstrated progressive responsibility and development of leadership skills in a Healthcare environment.

  • Two years of experience working in Epic Prelude and Resolute.

Additional Details

Ability to work in the office or from home. Flexible schedule Monday - Friday during regular business hours between 5am - 7:30pm.
