Job Summary: | This position will be based in Fort Collins CO. The Office of Medical Education and Office of Undergraduate Medical Education - Fort Collins Regional Campus has an opening for a part-time 0.1 FTE position as a DOCS Coach. All first-year students enrolled in CUSOMs Trek curriculum will participate in weekly small group clinical skills training during their preclerkship year as part of the Developing Our Clinical Skills (DOCS) course. This dynamic experiential course will produce humanistic student physicians by developing their foundational clinical and professional knowledge skills and attitudes via an integrated curriculum. The curriculum will emphasize communication and interpersonal skills cultural competency physical examination clinical reasoning and professional development while promoting patient-centered care teamwork reflection and coach-learner partnerships. Standardized patient interactions will also comprise significant portions of the course. Clinical Skills Coaches will facilitate a small group of students and utilize a coach approach when delivering the courses addition to teaching students Clinical Skills Coaches will observe students clinical skills deliver individualized feedback evaluate student performance and provide effective remediation. Supervision Received: The position reports directly to the DOCS Lead for the Fort Collins Branch Campus and the Clinical Pillar Director with a dotted-line reporting relationship to the Assistant Dean for the Fort Collins Branch Campus. Supervision Exercised: None Key Responsibilities: Teaching/Coaching: Become competent at the DOCS course-specific knowledge skills and attitudes to deliver the requisite curriculum. Effectively facilitate DOCS course small groups in the first year of medical school every week or recruit faculty to facilitate appropriate sessions based on content expertise. Anticipated Pay Range: | The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE: Instructor: Salary support up to $26500 plus benefits or the equivalent of .1 FTE up to the educational salary cap of $265000 for the Fort Collins Regional Campus Pre-negotiated agreement. The final offer will be capped at $265000 annually and will depend on the individuals current 1.0 FTE salary.
