ForeThought Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Systems Administrator (Senior Analyst) to join our IT team supporting Navy and Department of Defense customers in a compliance-focused environment. This role is responsible for administering and maintaining AWS cloud-based and on-prem IT systems including classified infrastructure in AWS GovCloud. The successful candidate will ensure system reliability security and optimal performance have access to a government SIPR connection and will provide periodic onsite support at Ocean Springs MS location (one week per month).
Highly preferred experience in overall AWS architectural concepts and familiarization with creation maintenance and support of AWS networking components EC2 Kubernetes clusters load balancers EBS cloud storage and IAM security and user related policies and permissions.

Job Summary
This role is responsible for administering and maintaining AWS cloud-based and on-prem IT systems including classified infrastructure in AWS GovCloud. The successful candidate will ensure system reliability security and optimal performance have access to a government SIPR connection and provide periodic onsite support at Ocean Springs MS location (one week per month).
Highly preferred experience in overall AWS architectural concepts and familiarization with creation maintenance and support of AWS networking components EC2 Kubernetes clusters load balancers EBS cloud storage and IAM security and user related policies and permissions.
Key Responsibilities
System Administration
Administer monitor and maintain servers networks and other IT systems.
Ensure availability performance and security through proactive monitoring and troubleshooting.
Install and integrate applications in AWS and on-prem environments (e.g. Windows Server Linux Microsoft SQL Server Microsoft SharePoint Server and other COTS products).
Create and maintain interfaces to external systems as required.
Infrastructure Management
Design implement and manage IT infrastructure to support organizational growth and program requirements.
Provision AWS GovCloud IL6 network and server infrastructure including related services.
Collaborate with IT stakeholders to plan and execute system upgrades and enhancements.
Security & Compliance
Implement and enforce security measures to safeguard systems and data.
Support compliance activities aligned with applicable standards and customer requirements (e.g. NIST RMF DoD STIGs/SRGs ATO-related controls).
Maintain appropriate handling and professionalism with sensitive information.
User Support
Provide technical support for escalations address hardware and software issues promptly.
Partner with the help desk team to resolve escalated tickets and recurring issues.
Backup Recovery & Continuity
Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery procedures to minimize downtime and data loss for AWS-hosted and on-prem systems.
Documentation & Process Adherence
Create and maintain documentation for system configurations processes and procedures.
Follow established change management and documentation retention processes.
Qualifications Required
Bachelors degree in computer science Information Technology or related field or equivalent experience.
10 years of experience managing and implementing Windows Server SharePoint Server and Linux environments.
10 years of scripting and automation experience (e.g. PowerShell Python Terraform).
5 years of experience managing and configuring networking devices (routers firewalls switches etc.).
Experience designing and implementing cloud solutions (AWS Azure or Google Cloud); AWS GovCloud experience strongly preferred.
Relevant certifications (e.g. Windows/Linux CompTIA Network/Security VMware AWS Solutions Architect Azure Solutions Architect etc.).
Ability to maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship.
Access to a government SIPR connection (required).
Ability to work onsite in Ocean Springs MS one week per month.
Preferred
AWS Certified Professional Architect Certification
Knowledge of NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF) and ATO-related processes (eMASS ACAS DoD STIGs/SRG SCAP).
Experience with containerization technologies.
Familiarity with TACLANE encryption devices.
Experience with certificate authority configuration and certificate management for encrypted communications.
Experience with database platforms (e.g. PostgreSQL Microsoft SQL Server Oracle).
