The Senior Nuclear Medicine Technologist operates imaging equipment and software proficiently mostly nuclear medicine imaging equipment to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Responsibilities include serving as a lead when direct leadership is unavailable serving as a resource and assisting in training. The Senior Nuclear Medicine Technologist requires proficiency and thorough understanding of operating imaging equipment and procedures while ensuring patient safety and maintaining imaging standards. Effective communication with patients and healthcare professionals is essential for providing optimal care.

Hours/Schedule

PRN

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiology Sciences Program in Nuclear Medicine and completed required clinical hours.

Experience: Two (2) years of relevant experience

Licensure: State licensure may be required depending on the specific state of practice.

Certification/Registration: NMTCB or ARRT (N); Basic Life Support BLS;

AND

1 advanced registry from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)

  • Positron Emission Technology Certification (PET)
  • Nuclear Cardiology Technologist Certification (NCT)
  • Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification (CT)
  • Radiation Safety Certification (RS)

Skills Knowledge and Abilities:

Proficient in operating nuclear medicine imaging equipment (e.g. gamma cameras PET scanners)

Ability to lead and motivate a team

Strong decision-making and conflict resolution skills.

Thorough understanding of protocols and ability to adjust as needed.

Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex instructions.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced collaborative environment.

Flexibility to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.

Capable of troubleshooting technical issues with equipment or imaging procedures.

Strong understanding of radiation safety protocols and standards

Physical Requirements:

Position requires the ability to push pull and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.

Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.

Position requires the ability to grip reach bend kneel twist and squat to perform duties.
