Job Summary

Assignment Length: Ongoing coverage need

Start Date: June 1

Openings: 1

Reason for Coverage: Long-term permanent search

Practice Setting:

  • OR Outpatient clinic coverage
  • Option for call coverage if interested
  • Average 12-15 PPD
  • Level IV trauma center
  • Support staff includes:
    • 3 MAs
    • 2 APPs
    • 3 Office staff

Schedule:

  • Typical schedule:
    • Monday OR 7:00a-3:00p
    • Tuesday-Thursday Clinic 8:00a-5:00p
  • Open to any availability (2-3 days per week 1 week on/1 week off)
  • 8 days call coverage available per month

Patient Population: Adult Geriatric

EMR: EPIC

Credentialing: 90 days

Requirements:

  • Active Oregon licensure
  • Board certification
  • AHA BLS certifications
  • Minimum 1-year Orthopedic Surgery experience or equivalent

Job Responsibilities (Generalized):
  • Diagnose and treat a wide range of system disorders in adults and potentially children (depending on the position)
  • Conduct comprehensive patient histories and physical examinations
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as X-rays CT scans and blood tests
  • Perform procedures to diagnose and treat digestive conditions (depending on the scope of practice)
  • Develop and implement treatment plans
  • Manage chronic digestive conditions and provide ongoing patient care
  • Collaborate with other specialists when needed to ensure coordinated care
  • Maintain accurate and complete medical records for all patients
  • Stay current on the latest advancements in specialty through continuing education

  • In-depth knowledge of specialty principles and practices including diagnosis treatment and prevention of diseases
  • Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and collaborate effectively with healthcare teams
  • Technical proficiency in performing procedures (if applicable)
  • Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to adapt to changing patent conditions
  • Time management and organizational skills to manage a patient workload effectively


Requirements

Education:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree of Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school
  • Residency training program in internal medicine accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA)
  • Fellowship training in Orthopedic Surgery (may be preferred depending on the position)

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Board certification in Orthopedic Surgery by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or the AOA
  • Active and unrestricted medical license in Oregon

Experience:

  • While specific requirements may vary most locum physician positions prefer candidates with at least one year of experience in a clinical setting relevant to their specialty

If you reside greater than 50 miles from the facility you are eligible for travel benefits. You will have your travel and lodging arranged by our travel department and paid for in full.


Please note that this position is offered as an independent contractor (1099) role and does not include the typical benefits associated with a W-2 employment such as health insurance retirement contributions or paid time off.
