We are currently seeking Engineering Candidates with Expertise in Hydraulics and Hydrology for our Environmental and Earth Sciences Practice in Pasadena CA. Other locations may also be this role you will work as part of a team to provide high-level scientific support for projects centering on the evaluation of flooding geomorphology water resources and water quality contaminant transport and fate and evaluation of the impacts of climate change. The ideal candidate should be willing to expand their area of expertise into emerging environmental issues including climate change impacts on water supply and environmental quality evolving policy related to water quality and waste management and contaminants of emerging concern.

• Examining surface water hydrology flooding and geomorphology
• Analyzing the impacts of climate change on hydrology (floods droughts snowpack and water supply impacts)
• Synthesizing technical information and applying critical thinking to prepare and review reports and technical presentations
• Working cooperatively on projects with other members of the Environmental and Earth Sciences Practice and interdisciplinary groups from other Exponent practices as appropriate

• Ph.D. in Civil or Environmental Engineering Geology Hydrology Hydrogeology Earth Sciences Limnology Water Resources or similar discipline
• Registered Professional Engineer; (Candidates with FE and ability to soon obtain a PE license will also be considered)
• Experience with common surface water modeling and GIS tools is desired (1-D and 2-D HEC-RAS HEC-HMS SWMM FLO-2D computational fluid dynamics models such as Delft-3D etc.)
• Experience modeling chemical fate and transport is a plus
• Expertise in large dataset visualization
• Excellent communication organization and writing skills
• Must be detail-oriented able to work independently and as part of a team and manage time effectively
• Strong ability to prioritize multiple projects with competing deadlines
• Strong commitment to personal and professional development
• Presently legally authorized to work in the United immigration sponsorship or processingrequired.

Our consultants are rewarded for their technical and business contributions and have an opportunity to plan for future success and career growth. Exponents total compensation plan is consistent with its expectations of the quality and quantity of work performed and with the professional standards set by Exponent. At the Manager level and above total compensation includes base salary annual bonus and 401(k) employer contribution of 7% of base salary.
