Certified Water and Wastewater Operator Level 2

Siel Human Solutions on behalf of our client is seeking 2 Full Time motivated Certified Water and Wastewater Operator Level 2 to join their Operations team. This skilled technical role is responsible for the safe operation maintenance and monitoring of a towns water treatment water distribution wastewater treatment and wastewater collection systems. The operator ensure compliance with provincial regulations while delivering reliable and sustainable municipal utility services to the community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate monitor and maintain water and wastewater treatment distribution and collection systems.
• Conduct advanced sampling testing and chemical dosing to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Oversee SCADA systems troubleshoot issues and optimize performance.
• Lead or assist with infrastructure projects system upgrades and major repairs.
• Ensure compliance documentation reports and records are accurate and submitted on time.
• Respond to system alarms utility service calls and after-hours emergencies (on call rotation).
• Mentor and train junior operators and lead small project or field teams.
• Liaise with contractors regulatory bodies and consultants during inspections audits and projects.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Grade 12 or GED.
• Valid Class 5 drivers license with clean abstract (Class 3A preferred).
• RCMP security clearance (criminal record check).
• Valid Saskatchewan Level 2 Certification in at least one category: Water Distribution Wastewater Collection or Water Treatment (progression requires additional certifications).
• 2-5 years of municipal water and wastewater operations experience.
• Strong knowledge of SCADA systems water quality testing and chemical dosing.
• Demonstrated leadership communication and problem-solving skills.
• Physical ability to perform heavy work including lifting up to 50 lbs bending kneeling and working in confined spaces.
• WHMIS 2015 First Aid/CPR-C Confined Space Entry (or willingness to obtain).
• Willingness to work evenings weekends and respond to emergencies as required.

Progression & Training:
This role provides opportunities for progression through additional Level 2 certifications in Water Distribution Wastewater Collection and Water Treatment. As certifications are achieved responsibilities expand to include greater technical problem-solving leadership project management and regulatory liaison duties.
