SkillBridge connects Service members with industry partners in real-world job experiences under Dept. of Defense Instruction 1322.29. Separating Service members can be granted up to 180 days of permissive duty to focus solely on training full-time with approved industry partners after unit commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) provides written authorization and approval. GE HealthCare as a Skill Bridge partner offers real-world training and work experience in in-demand fields of work while having the opportunity to evaluate the Service members suitability for the work. Military DoD SkillBridge participants are not eligible for compensation from GE HealthCare as they continue to receive military compensation and benefits as active-duty service members.
Job Description
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or related field or equivalent professional experience.
3 years of DevOps Cloud Engineering or Site Reliability Engineering experience.
Strong experience with CI/CD automation and configuration management.
Hands-on cloud experience (Azure strongly preferred).
Proficiency with Docker Kubernetes and containerized application delivery.
Practical experience with scripting (Python Bash PowerShell) for automation.
Understanding of secure software development and cloud governance.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in regulated industries (healthcare medical device aerospace finance).
Familiarity with microservices architectures and API-focused development teams.
Knowledge of GitOps tooling (ArgoCD Flux).
Experience with zero-downtime deployments and blue/green or canary release strategies.
Certifications such as:
AWS/Azure Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer
CKA/CKAD
HashiCorp Terraform Associate
