Job Description
As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Response in Alexandria VA you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government and more. What Youll Do:
- Provide customer service to visitors and staff by following site-specific procedures access control requirements and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
- Respond to incidents alarms and critical situations in a calm problem-solving manner escalating to appropriate personnel and/or public responders as needed.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of interior and exterior areas including entrances lobbies parking areas and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity.
- Screen individuals and vehicles as required verify identification and authorization and maintain visitor logs and/or access records in accordance with post orders.
- Complete security-related reports and daily activity logs communicate observations to site leadership and maintain assigned equipment in accordance with Allied Universal policies and post requirements.
Minimum Requirements:
- Have at least 2 years of security experience.
- Have an Armed Guard Card and/or license.
- Provide proof of a high school diploma and/or GED as required by the client.
- Be comfortable using a computer and/or tablet preferred.
- Have access control and/or badge experience preferred.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal state and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid drivers license will be required for driving positions only.
