Job Description
As a Security Guard - Armed Patrol in Springfield IL you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer supporting a government location you will conduct routine patrols and remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will respond to requests document activity and communicate clearly with staff and visitors while maintaining a professional presence. What Youll Do:
- Provide customer service at a government location by following Allied Universal security-related procedures site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings grounds parking areas and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
- Monitor access points and observe visitor employee and contractor activity; provide directions assist with check-in processes as assigned and/or report irregular activity.
- Respond to incidents alarms and critical situations in a calm problem-solving manner; contact site leadership and/or emergency services as directed by post orders.
- Document patrols incidents and observations in written and/or electronic reports; communicate updates to supervisors and/or oncoming personnel.
Minimum Requirements:
- Have a minimum of 1 year of security-related experience.
- Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal state and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid drivers license will be required for driving positions only.
