Qualifications:
Possess a valid Texas Operators License
High school diploma or GED
Five years experience in maintenance training experience in a school or educational facility is preferred
Experience in personnel management training and supervision
Strong knowledge of building systems (electrical plumbing carpentry etc.).
Ability to interpret plans shop drawings and specifications
Ability to plan prioritize and oversee multiple maintenance projects simultaneously.
Proficient with maintenance management software and Microsoft Office Suite
Knowledge of Federal State Local and ADA codes
Excellent leadership communication and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.
Physically able to lift 50 pounds
Ability to read write and speak English proficiently
Primary Purpose:
The Area Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the maintenance and repair operations across assigned campuses and facilities within the district. This role ensures all facilities are safe functional and well-maintained while supervising maintenance staff and ensuring compliance with district policies safety standards and applicable regulations.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise and schedule assigned employees.
- Is a working supervisor and adapt at making repairs to district facilities and equipment.
- Plan assign and monitor routine and preventative maintenance tasks for district facilities.
- Prioritize coordinate and assign daily work through department work order system to ensure timely resolution of maintenance requests/issues.
- Provide training mentorship and performance evaluations for maintenance staff.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance repairs work orders equipment and document all safety programs and training.
- Ensure maintenance operations comply with federal state and local safety codes regulations and district policies.
- Respond to emergencies and after-hours maintenance requests as needed. Required to carry and answer district cell phone for after-hours calls.
- Inspect campuses and facilities equipment and systems for proper function and compliance with safety regulations.
- Coordinate and acquire necessary building permits for minor construction projects and portable building relocations.
- Coordinate and manage contracted repairs for the assigned campuses.
- Collaborate with school administrators district leadership and contractors to prioritize maintenance repairs and projects.
- Provide primary communication support with campus administrators serving as the main point of contact for maintenance related updates concerns and coordination.
- Participate with the Fire Marshal and other code officials in campus inspections.
- Attend professional development training as needed or requested.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Computer tablet phone smart phone lightweight truck van trailer and various maintenance tools and equipment.
Working Conditions:
Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent district-wide travel; regular prolonged and irregular hours; work indoors and outdoors to conduct on-site inspection of all facilities and projects; work around machinery with moving parts; work on ladders or scaffolding.
