Are you someone who cares deeply about others and wants to bring comfort when it matters most

Join our Hospital Companion service at Yeovil Hospital where you can make a meaningful difference to people with a terminal diagnosis.

As a volunteer youll offer emotional support companionship and a calming presence to people who need it most. Each week youll spend time with someone - listening chatting and simply being there when they need a friendly face.

Availability:3 hours per week - flexible to suit your schedule

Criteria: Minimum 18 years of age. A Criminal Record Check is required for this opportunity - Marie Curie will cover the cost of this.

What youll do:

  • Spend time with someone each week
  • Offer emotional support and companionship
  • Share helpful info and connect families to local services
  • Complete a basic report after each visit
