DescriptionThe Church History Department is pleased to announce a paid conservation internship based at the Church History Library starting no earlier than May 2026. Preference is for a full-time 6-month intern.
ResponsibilitiesThe Church History Department is responsible to preserve collect and share a record of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days Saints and its people. The conservation intern will support this mission by working with staff conservators to carry out treatments and engage in preventative conservation tasks for library and archive materials. The intern will have regular check-ins with conservation staff to receive work assignments and review progress. The intern will be responsible for all mold remediation carried out at the library during the period of their internship.
QualificationsRequired:
- Paid Interns are qualified while enrolled in an educational institution and for one year following graduation. They must sign a Paid Internship Engagement Letter.
- An interest in and understanding of Church history culture doctrine and policies.
- Excellent hand skills problem solving skills and attention to detail.
- The ability to work independently but also collaboratively with staff members.
Preferred:
- Preferred candidates will be studying a conversation related field (visual arts chemistry art history anthropology history or a related field).
- Interested in pursuing a career in conservation.
