ust have PA license and ability to get FBI Fingerprint 2 weeks in advance of start taking 10 days due to volume* This is considered outpatientProvides direct patient care before during and after the physician with adult and pediatric cardiac catheterizations including but not limited to the following procedures and techniques: myocardial biopsy transluminal coronary angioplasty and stenting rotational atherectomy temporary pacemaker insertion pericardiocentesis Swan-Ganz catheter insertion cardiac assist device insertion percutaneous valvuloplasty percutaneous valve implantation ASD/PFO closure peripheral vascular diagnostic/interventional of sterile technique preparing for procedure including scrubbing applying surgical gown gloving draping and setup of instrument monitors and assesses hemodynamic data collected during all patient records accurately and in a timely and maintains rapport with patients throughout monitors patients physiologic and psychological status throughout procedure (i.e. vital signs cardiac rhythm pain/discomfort anxiety etc.) and responds and maintains IV all ordered medications intravenous drips and emergency medications before during and after specialized equipment used in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (CCL) in a safe and efficient appropriately to all emergency situations within the Cardiac Catheterization life support techniques in the event of a cardiac/respiratory arrest including CPR drug administration defibrillation temporary pacemaker insertion intra-aortic balloon pump insertion and airway patient for complications related to medications or procedures and responds arterial and/or venous access safely through use of manual compression or available compression physician with use of invasive closure phone/verbal report on all patients as and prepares catheterization laboratory between other duties as required or On-Call responsibilities as of 2 years Cardiac experience BLS/ACLS is required.
