Role Overview

The school is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Welfare Officer to support students emotional wellbeing and ensure that safeguarding and pastoral support systems are effectively implemented.

This is a rewarding role that involves working closely with students families and staff to provide support where it is needed most.

Key Responsibilities

Providing day-to-day support for students with wellbeing needs
Supporting safeguarding procedures and working with the DSL
Monitoring attendance and supporting intervention strategies
Liaising with parents carers and external agencies
Supporting students experiencing emotional or social challenges
Maintaining accurate and confidential records
Assisting with safeguarding referrals and follow-ups
Supporting behaviour and wellbeing initiatives
Helping deliver pastoral programmes and support plans
Working closely with pastoral leaders and teaching staff

The successful candidate will be compassionate resilient and committed to supporting young people.

They will have excellent communication skills and the ability to build trust with students and families while maintaining professional boundaries.

Requirements

Experience working with young people
Strong understanding of safeguarding
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to handle sensitive situations with care
Strong organisational skills
Team player with a proactive approach
