The HVAC Helper provides essential support to HVAC Technicians in the maintenance repair and installation of heating ventilation air conditioning and refrigeration systems across Lipscomb Universitys campus. This position performs hands-on work assisting with service calls preventive maintenance equipment installations and emergency repairs to ensure reliable operation of climate control systems that support the universitys academic mission and residential community. The HVAC Helper works under the supervision of HVAC Technicians and contributes to efficient facilities operations through dependable technical support and physical labor.

Position Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required
1-3 years of experience in HVAC mechanical systems or related trades preferred
Previous experience in construction maintenance or facilities work beneficial
Entry-level candidates with strong mechanical aptitude will be considered
Experience working with hand tools and power tools
Valid drivers license with clean driving record required
EPA Section 608 Certification (Universal) preferred or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire
Additional certifications beneficial but not required

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This is a non-supervisory position. The HVAC Helper works under direct supervision of HVAC Technicians and receives guidance from facilities management leadership.
Independent Judgment:
Performs tasks and duties under direct supervision with limited independent judgment.
Expected to follow established procedures and seek guidance from supervisors on technical matters.
May exercise independent judgment on routine tasks after demonstrating competency.
