About This Opportunity:

The Production Supervisor is responsible for the management development and efficient operation of the production employees. This is a temporary position with the opportunity of becoming permanent.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and direct supervision to hourly production employees/lead hands in the assigned department.

  • Manage safe cost effective and efficient production.

  • Participate in audits.

  • Continuously improve plant manufacturing efficiencies and quality.

  • Ensure employee safety and overall compliance to Albertas Workplace Health and Safety Act.

  • Ensure Compliance with all HACCP procedures.

  • Maintain a positive relationship with Union Members.

  • Administer terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

  • Ensure Open and effective communication with both hourly and salaried employees.

  • Available to work overtime hours as required.

Skills & Experience:

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

  • Minimum 3 years supervision experience in a fast paced unionized environment an asset.

  • Familiar with health & safety HACCP and CFIA statutory regulations.

  • Strong knowledge of labor relations issues. Good oral and written communication.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
  • Excellent initiative and leadership skills.

  • Excellent planning analytical and organizational skills.

  • Ability to function in a fast-paced production environment.

  • The ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • The ability to live and teach our Canada Packers leadership values.

  • Initiative sense of urgency Can-Do attitude a must.

  • Well - developed English communication skills (verbal written reading).

    Please note this is a 12-month contract day shift position
