Role Overview:

The Policy and Procedure Lead Support at Home is responsible for critically interpreting Commonwealth aged care legislation the Support at Home Program Guidelines provider obligations and regulatory instruments and translating these requirements into clear practical and operational work practices for Alpine Health. The role ensures that organisational systems policies procedures and frontline practices are demonstrably aligned with the Support at Home program guidelines the Aged Care Act 1997 the Aged Care Act 2024 and the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards. This position plays a pivotal role in bridging regulatory requirements and day-to-day service delivery ensuring that program rules are operationalised into compliant consistent and auditable work practices across Support at Home

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse and interpret Support at Home Program Guidelines and related legislative instruments identifying operational implications for Alpine Health.
  • Translate program requirements into structured step-by-step work practices procedures and tools that align directly with guideline intent and compliance obligations.
  • Develop workflow maps that clearly demonstrate how operational practices meet specific guideline and standard requirements.
  • Ensure all developed procedures include traceable links to relevant sections of legislation standards and program rules.
  • Conduct gap analyses between existing practice and updated program guidelines and lead remediation planning.
  • Provide interpretive advice to leadership on complex regulatory requirements and their operational impact.
  • Assist in translating policy and legislative requirements into accessible practical guidance materials tools and training resources to support consistent implementation by Support at Home staff.

Essential:

  • Demonstrated high-level analytical ability to interpret complex program guidelines legislation and regulatory frameworks and translate them into practical implementable work practices.
  • Proven experience aligning operational processes with compliance frameworks in aged care or health services.
  • Ability to interpret and operationalise the implementation of legislation
  • Tertiary Qualification in Quality Auditing Clinical Governance Compliance or Risk Management.
  • Strong written communication skills with ability to produce clear and user-friendly policies procedures and operational guidance
  • Strong document management and governance experience
