Absolute Pets is looking for an HR Clerk to join their Human Resources team. The HR Clerk will provide administrative and operational support to the Human Resources department with a strong focus on retail recruitment onboarding reporting and general HR administration. The HR Clerk plays a key role in ensuring efficient HR processes and a positive employee experience across the retail teams.
The HR Clerk will report into the Senior HR Assistant.
Responsibilities
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Draft and post job advertisements across relevant platforms
- Screen CVs and shortlist suitable candidates
- Schedule and coordinate interviews with Team Leaders and Area Managers
- Conduct reference checks
- Prepare offers of employment and employment contracts
- Coordinate and conduct exit interviews and capture and report on exit trends
Uniforms
- Manage uniform ordering and stock levels
- Distribute uniforms to new employees within the required timeframe
- Maintain and track uniform tickets and records
- Liaise with suppliers where necessary
Payroll Support
- Track and communicate all new hires transfers and terminations for payroll
- Ensure all supporting documentation is accurate and submitted timeously
Reporting & Administration
- Assist in compiling recruitment statistics and reports
- Maintain accurate recruitment trackers and HR databases
- Maintain employee files including ensuring all contracts licenses IDs and permits are up to date.
- Ensure HR documentation is accurately filed and up to date
- Assist with drafting HR letters and documentation
- Respond to general HR queries from retail teams
- Assist with ad hoc HR projects and tasks to support the department and company.
and requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- HR qualification (Diploma or Degree) or currently studying towards one (advantageous)
- 12 years administrative experience (HR experience advantageous)
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Outlook)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment
