Unit Overview
Specific duties will include:
- Sharing in leadership decisions for the breast cancer program
- Representing the Plastic Surgery Program to MDA Surgical Institute and senior leadership
- Facilitating program development including strategy operations and pathway development
- Providing input to capital and operating budget for the cancer center
- Participating in marketing and planning meetings for breast surgery
- Functioning as a new member of:
- Cancer Leadership Team meeting
- NAPBC team
- Cancer Committee
- Quarterly Surgical Services Update team
Short Description
The Division of Plastic Surgery in the Department of Surgery at Cooper University Hospital Cape Regional is recruiting for a faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Surgery or above. The selected candidate will provide general plastic surgery services but will focus on comprehensive breast reconstruction services as part of multi-disciplinary teams working at the Cooper University Hospital Cape Regional and MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper. The selected candidate will also function as a member of the teaching faculty at the Cooper Medical School of Rowan University training residents in the Cooper Plastic Surgery Integrated Residency program and teaching medical students and rotating surgery residents.
Education Requirements
The candidate must have recognized skills in the education of trainees including but not limited to Medical Students Residents and Fellows.
Must have completed an accredited residency in Plastic Surgery.
Experience Required
The ideal candidate will have completed fellowship training in microsurgery will have prior clinical practice experience in breast reconstruction and have a strong interest in reconstructive microsurgery teaching and clinical research and leadership and program development.
License/Certification Requirements
Qualified candidates should possess or be eligible for certification by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
