DescriptionThe AI Enablement Intern will support Emersons Flow Controls engineering organization by applying artificial intelligence to real-world engineering work practices. This role focuses on improving productivity quality and speed across product development and sustaining engineering activities including firmware mechanical and electrical disciplines.
In This Role Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Identify and analyze engineering workflows suitable for AI-assisted improvement
- Develop AI-based prototypes to automate source code documentation reporting and analysis tasks
- Apply large language models to engineering artifacts such as specifications test results and defect data
- Collaborate with firmware mechanical and electrical engineers to understand workflow challenges
- Develop agents scripts or other lightweight tools to improve engineering productivity
- Identify and sponsor opportunities for larger scale AI productivity implementations
- Document results and quantify productivity improvements
- Present findings and demonstrations to engineering leadership

For This Role You Will Need:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Artificial Intelligence Computer Science or a related field
- Programming experience in Python C# JavaScript or similar languages
- Experience working with AI models automation or data-driven systems
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to diverse engineering audiences
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
- Prior internship or project experience applying AI to real-world problems
- Experience integrating AI solutions into existing workflows or systems
- Familiarity with Git APIs and backend or cloud-based systems
- Interest in industrial automation embedded systems or engineered products
