Job Summary

A vacancy has arisen for a Gp Capt (Any Profession) to serve as DACOS A7 at 11 Group HQ Air Command RAF High Wycombe on Full Time Reserve Service (Limited Commitment) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS) with an initial proposed start date of 07 September 2026 (or earlier/later subject to candidate status but not before 18 July 2026).

Candidates are to note that the position may transfer from FTRS to Regular; this is not guaranteed and if that were to occur candidates would be informed accordingly before interview stage. Successful candidates for this position will be provided with the full TCoS and length of tenure as advertised.

Working within HQ 11 Gp under the ACOS Plans pillar DACOS A7 is responsible to AOC 11 Gp through ACOS Plans for safely delivering the following responsibilities:

  1. Matching available training resource and opportunity to manage and meeting the safe training need and line management of the HQ Air A7 Policy Enablers and delivery teams. Develop the Year 0 Air Ex Programme (AXP) to meet Air and Space Commander requirements.
  2. Management and oversight of relevant Defence Air Support Services Contracts where necessary.
  3. Further responsibilities include overseeing RAF T2/2 Operational Collective Training Policy and Enablement covering Force Protection Generation Training EW OTI and relevant AXP demand and support. The role also requires representation of RAF Operational Collective Training at Defence forums actively contributing to the growth of Live Virtual Constructive (LVC) Collective Training. Coordination of contract delivery for live Air support to the AXP and support to AIR Cap for programme training and Organisational DLODs are also key aspects.
  4. The DACOS A7 provides oversight leadership and line management of A7 remote teams at OTC Leeming TLP in Albacete and the UAE Air Warfare Centre in Al Dhafra. The position serves as 1RO for five OF4s 2RO for fourteen OF3s across four locations and line manager for a C1 and two E1 Civil Servants. Additionally the role serves as the HQ AIR point of entry for RAF JTEPS and is responsible through AOC HQ 11 Gp for future Op Collective Training T2/2 development projects as required.
  5. Management of the RAF NATREP and the provision of guidance and support to ensure the RAF meets the NATO standards and pan-Air FORCEVAL training requirements.
  6. Oversight and coordination of RAF Ground Coll Trg for Expeditionary Air Wings (EAWs) and line management of the rusticated Op Trg Centre (OTC) at RAF Leeming.
  7. Lead the pursuit of the 3* Air Coll Trg Strategy and its delivery through the 2* Air Coll Trg Directive for AOC 11 Gp facilitating such by a regular battle rhythm which includes a 1* Customer Executive Board for accountability.
  8. Continue leading the ASC 3* Trilat (FrUKUS) Op Steering Group as the lead for Framework nation responsibilities.
