Job Description Summary
The Gas Turbine Engineering (GTE) Design Liaison Engineering (DLE) & Industrialization engineering leader is a critical part of the organizations Design Liaison leadership team and is responsible for both daily management and GSC Initiatives. This responsibility includes managing operational and program budgets demand forecasting tracking and report engineering KPI performance and driving continuous improvement initiatives that achieve meaningful improvements in safety quality delivery and cost. This role will work closely with a diverse set of global functional groups in both inside and outside of engineering to achieve optimum operational excellence. This is a highly autonomous role that provides consistent access to leaders across Engineering and Global Supply Chain.

Roles and Responsibilities
The engineering manager demonstrates leadership in communicating DLE & Industrialization team needs to his/her team and in driving culture of continuous improvement and collaboration to deliver better quality for product and this role He or She will utilize his/her experience or expertise to lead and solve problems develop and execute objectives for self and others and have ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals of GTE organization.
- The engineering leader will act as cross commodity leader (CCL) in DLE organization with horizontal alignment with rest of the commodity leaders (CL) to deliver their priorities rather than being vertically aligned in DLE teams.
- Be accountable to support lean operating rhythms bowler metrics and visualization tools to facilitate daily management for the DLE team to meet or exceed priorities around on Safety Quality Delivery and Cost.
- Provide technical leadership in strategic sourcing initiatives in qualifying alternative suppliers for critical components to meet SQDC objectives.
- Extends technical leadership to assembly manufacturing and repair shops based on business needs arising during fiscal year.
- Drive consistent global standard work process rigor and best practice sharing across the engineering and supply chain teams to operate as ONE engineering team
- Address pain points for executing by facilitating cross functional discussions and clearing roadblocks in conjunction with DLE Leadership team
- Partner with other organizations leaders to drive consistency across GE Vernova within the DLE space (KPIs Lean Daily Management)
- Support simplification and standardization of complex DLE processes.
- Enables his/her team to execute and evaluate design using excellent engineering principles and adhering to business standards practices procedures and product / program requirements.
- Provide hands-on support to team based on critical stage of the design or during product development/implementation phase.
- Handle critical design meetings with excellent technical preparation and with good insight on fundamentals and through best past practices.
- Keep strong connections within every module team in other global sites to leverage best practices and to review key design decisions as one engineering community.
- Available to take Shop visits to support key milestones which is critical to business.
- Drive document technical data generated by the team for assigned project consistent with engineering QMS policies and procedures.
- Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments to broader DLE engineers and GTE leadership teams.
- Develop and coach every team member to achieve their career interest in short and long term.
- Participate along with team to address organizational initiatives and generic issues.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelors degree in engineering discipline from accredited university
- 10 years experience in engineering power generation design/services or testing.
- Proven experienceas an engineering leader with a track record of successfully managing and scaling engineering teams.
- Strong mechanical design and manufacturing experience of gas turbine or turbomachinery components.
- Strong leadership behaviors and ability to interface effectively with all levels of a global organization and external customers
- Excellentleadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams
- Hands on experience with turbomachinery design tools and familiar with gas power tollgate review process.
