The Department of Psychiatry at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is seeking a full-time Clinical Psychologist to join the Centralized Faculty Practice Program at Mount Sinai Hospital. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a psychologist committed to providing psychotherapy to children adolescents and adults within a highly collaborative academic medical center.

The Mount Sinai Department of Psychiatry is a dynamic and nationally recognized leader in clinical care research and education. This position is located at Mount Sinai Hospital on the Upper East Side of Manhattan adjacent to the Icahn School of Medicine campus. Mount Sinai Hospital is a 1100 bed tertiary-care academic medical center internationally recognized for excellence in patient care education and scientific discovery.

Position Overview

The psychologist will provide outpatient psychological evaluation and psychotherapy for children adolescents and adults presenting with a wide range of psychiatric conditions. The role is well suited for a generalist psychologist with strong expertise in evidence-based psychotherapies particularly cognitive behavioral approaches for mood disorders anxiety disorders obsessive-compulsive and related disorders trauma-related conditions and other common mental health concerns.

The department is particularly interested in candidates with training or experience in specialized behavioral interventions including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) Habit Reversal Therapy (HRT) and Comprehensive Behavioral Intervention for Tics (CBIT) though such expertise is not required.

The psychologist will join a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists psychologists nurse practitioners and social workers and will play an important role in delivering high-quality outpatient care while contributing to the academic mission of the department.

In addition to clinical responsibilities faculty in this role may participate in teaching supervision of trainees and scholarly activity consistent with the mission of the Icahn School of Medicine.



Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive diagnostic evaluations for children adolescents and adults in an outpatient setting
  • Deliver individual psychotherapy using evidence-based approaches including cognitive behavioral therapies
  • Provide specialized behavioral interventions when indicated (e.g. ERP for OCD HRT/CBIT for tic and body-focused repetitive behavior disorders)
  • Develop and implement collaborative patient-centered treatment plans
  • Work closely with psychiatrists and other behavioral health clinicians in a multidisciplinary care model
  • Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in the electronic medical record
  • Participate in clinical team meetings case conferences and faculty activities
  • Possibly provide clinical supervision or teaching to trainees including psychology trainees residents and fellows when appropriate
  • Contribute to the development of innovative clinical services such as group therapies or specialty programs aligned with the candidates expertise

Qualifications
  • Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) from an APA-accredited program in clinical counseling or school psychology
  • Completion of an APA-accredited clinical internship
  • New York State psychology license (or license eligible)
  • Experience providing psychotherapy and assessment across the lifespan including children adolescents and adults
  • Experience treating mood disorders anxiety disorders OCD and related disorders and other common psychiatric conditions
  • Preferred: training or experience in specialized behavioral treatments such as Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) Habit Reversal Therapy (HRT) or Comprehensive Behavioral Intervention for Tics (CBIT)
  • Strong collaboration communication and organizational skills
  • Commitment to providing culturally responsive care to diverse patient populations

Compensation range from 120K to 165K (not including bonuses/incentive compensation or benefits).

Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors including experience specialties historical productivity historical collections and hospital/community need. As such an actual salary may fall closer to one or the other end of the range and in certain circumstances may wind up being outside of the listed salary range. The salary range listed is for full-time employment and does not include bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits.
