Salary: $60886.00/ annually

Work Schedule: Monday Friday

Primary Hours: 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m.

Position Purpose

This position is responsible for preparing analyzing and supporting key financial and statistical reporting functions required by State and Federal oversight agencies. The role is accountable for core components of the CMS64 and CMS21 federal reporting processes. The role acts as a contact for State and Federal auditors coordinating audit activities and providing timely access to workpapers reports and supporting documentation.

Principal Activities May Include:

  • Prepares and analyzes program expenditure and statistical data used in State and Federal financial reporting including components of the CMS-64 and CMS-21 reports.

  • Collects reviews andvalidatesfinancial and program data from internal systems and program areas to ensure accuracy prior to submission to State and Federal oversight agencies.

  • Generates expenditure and service-level reports from MMIS and SAP Business Objects and analyzes claims data to support responses to audit requests and findings from CMS OIG and the State Auditor and Inspector.

  • Reviews and compares MAR reports with OHCA financial reports by cost of service to ensure all federally reimbursable expenditures are accurately reported on theappropriate CMS-64lines.

  • Performs reconciliations between financial systems statistical reports and supporting documentation toidentifyand resolve discrepancies.

  • Coordinates the preparation of workpapers and supporting schedules required for State and Federal reporting and audit activities.

  • Works closely with State and Federal auditors by responding to information requests providing supporting documentation andassistingwith audit inquiries related to financial reporting.

  • Collaborates with program areas finance staff and data teams to ensure reporting requirements are met and reporting deadlines are achieved.

  • Maintainsdocumentation supporting financial reporting processes to ensure audit readiness and compliance with State and Federal requirements.

  • Assistswith identifying data inconsistencies and recommending corrective actions or process improvements.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge Skills Abilities and Competency Requirements

The role demands strong skills in compiling validating and reconciling large datasets; preparing accurate and compliant financial reports; using spreadsheets databases and financial reporting tools; and communicating effectively with auditors program staff and external agencies. The position requires the ability to interpret and apply complex reporting requirements compile and analyze member population and expenditure data prepare auditready workpapers manage multiple deadlines troubleshoot data inconsistencies work independently and collaboratively and maintain confidentiality while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.

Education and/or Experience:

  • A bachelors degree in finance accounting or public administration and 2 years of professional experience OR

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience substituting 1 year of professional-level experience for each year of the required education.

Preference Qualifications Include:

  • Medicaid experience

  • Grant Management experience

  • MMIS experience

  • Business Objects or comparable software experience

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Work is typically performed in an office setting with climate-controlled settings and exposure to moderate noise the course of performing job duties employees are required to speak stand walk and reach with their hands and arms. This position requires extended periods of sitting and daily use of computers and phones. Employees must be willing to complete all job-related travel associated with this position. Being present at the office is an essential function of this position.
