Establish and maintain a strong culture built on accountability discipline and character. Develop a long-term vision for sustained program success. Promote the mission and values of Catholic education within the program. Coaching & Player Development Plan and conduct effective practices focused on skill development fundamentals and team concepts. Teach offensive and defensive systems that maximize team success. Develop players physically mentally and emotionally. Evaluate athlete performance and provide consistent feedback. Foster leadership among team members. Student-Athlete Development Support the spiritual academic and personal growth of student-athletes. Monitor academic progress and promote academic accountability. Model sportsmanship integrity and respect for the game. Mentor student-athletes in leadership responsibility and character. Staff & Program Management Recruit mentor and supervise assistant coaches. Develop continuity across freshman JV and varsity levels. Collaborate with strength and conditioning staff and other athletic personnel. Organize off-season development programs camps and workouts. Work with local Catholic schools on program development. Game Management Prepare scouting reports and game strategies. Manage substitutions rotations and in-game adjustments. Ensure teams compete with discipline composure and Responsibilities Comply with all rules and regulations of the Michigan High School Athletic Association. Communicate effectively with student-athletes parents administration and the athletic department. Coordinate schedules transportation equipment and team logistics. Maintain accurate program records and statistics. Fundraise for team program and school needs. Community & School Engagement Represent the program positively within the school and broader community. Build relationships with alumni boosters and youth basketball programs. Encourage participation and pride within the Catholic Central community. Qualifications Previous successful high school or collegiate basketball coaching experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to build and sustain a competitive basketball program. Strong leadership and mentorship skills with a passion for developing young men. Commitment to the mission of Catholic education and faith-based leadership. Proven ability to develop players and build cohesive teams. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Knowledge of modern basketball strategies player development and program management. Ability to collaborate effectively with school administration faculty and athletic department staff. Required Valid First Aid/CPR/AED certification (or ability to obtain). Completion of all Michigan High School Athletic Association coaching requirements and certifications (or ability to obtain). Successful completion of background check and diocesan safe-environment Experience leading a varsity basketball program. Experience working within a faith-based or Catholic school environment. Demonstrated history of developing student-athletes who continue to compete at the collegiate level. Strong connections within Michigan basketball communities and collegiate coaches/recruiters.
