The candidate at minimum must have the following:

Option 1:

  • 12 months employment for the State of Ohio as Project Manager 1 63381 or IT Project Manager 1 63384.

Option 2:

  • 4 years experience in project management (i.e. management & development of project/program requirements design development testing/pilot training & full scale implementation) with experience to be commensurate with project/program &/or position description on file (e.g. Business Relationship Manager)
  • 12 months experience in budgeting & calculating cost projections of program/projects.

Option 3:

  • Successful completion of 2 year post-secondary education majoring in business administration public administration computer science/information technology social science or health with major being commensurate with project to be assigned.
  • 12 months experience in budgeting & calculating cost projections of program/projects.
  • 12 months experience in project management (i.e. management & development of project/program requirements design development testing/pilot training & full scale implementation).

Option 4:

  • The equivalent of the minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.

Pay Information

This position is in the State of Ohios E1 Pay Schedule Pay Range 16. Unless required by legislation or union contract starting salary will be the minimum salary of that pay range (step 1 currently $47.90 per hour). These ranges provide a standardized pathway for pay increases. With continued employment new hires move to the next step in the range after 6 months and annually thereafter. Cost of Living Adjustments increase wages in these ranges each fiscal year. The current step progression wages are in the table below.

The Office of Information Services (OIS) works to support the business functions and the delivery of health human and employment services through the application of information technology. OIS supports the delivery of programs to millions of recipients through the development and round-the-clock operation of automated information systems. What You Will Do

The Business Relationship Manager (BRM) will serve as a consultant to executives managers & key contacts on enterprise technology initiatives. The position will involve developing technology strategies for the program area that align with overall business strategy. This position will join a team of eight other BRMs and will primarily support a designated office at the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services.

In this role you will manage the demand side of IT governance by building strong strategic relationships working effectively with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders and partnering with the JFS program area to develop solutions that meet business needs. You will promote IT capabilities communicate program requirements to IT and identify innovative opportunities that create competitive advantage. The role will also facilitate technologydriven business change define and measure the resulting benefits and proactively resolve issues to improve customer satisfaction.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Advocate for business needs evaluate information systems requirements and propose effective technology solutions
  • Prepare costbenefit analyses and assist stakeholders in prioritizing projects to maximize ROI
  • Ensure business units understand technology solutions and maintain alignment with governance and architecture standards
  • Participate in annual IT budgeting and planning and track spending throughout the budget cycle
  • Communicate with OIS leadership and managers to define capacity and align services with business needs
  • Stay informed on emerging technologies and JFS program activities to identify opportunities for strategic IT investment
  • Partner with internal and external leaders to support and advance OIS strategic initiatives
  • Collaborate with customers and OIS staff to coordinate and resolve incidents
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of JFS program use of OIS services and solutions
  • Monitor technology and training needs while keeping program areas informed about available services
  • Engage OIS staff and external service providers to develop coordinated responses
  • Report on activities communications performance and customer satisfaction to OIS leadership
  • Manage longterm program demands for technology solutions and coordinate planning scheduling and stakeholder participation in OIS activities
  • Establish and implement Service Level Agreements and provide ongoing SLA governance
  • Create and execute communication plans tailored for various audiences
  • Support continual improvement of OIS branding and marketing of services including the service catalog and standard documentation

Schedule: Full-time

Hours: Standard workdays are Monday through Friday. Hours are between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Location: This position will be headquartered in an ODJFS Facility in one of the following cities - Columbus Akron or Dayton. This determination will take into account the proximity to the applicants home address.
