Job Summary

Salary/Position Classification

  • $17.00 hourly Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)
  • 10 hours/week-varied schedule
  • 100% Remote Work Availability: No
  • Hybrid Work Availability (requires some time on campus): No

Purpose of Position

This is a part-time non-benefited position. This position is to serve as a Flight Instructor - Airplane providing flight instruction to students enrolled in aviation academic courses with flight labs at the University of North Dakota. A valid Flight Instructor Airplane Certificate and medical must be held to apply.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • The following are the required duties and responsibilities for this position:
    • Provide the highest quality of flight training to students.
    • Provide customer service.
    • Follow the TCO requirements & standards that apply to each student.
    • Teach and adhere to appropriate UND standardization manual.
    • Maintain pilot proficiency.
    • Display professionalism.
    • Accurate record keeping.
    • Adhere & promote the Safety Management System (SMS).

Qualified candidates are required to appear in person for interviewing and the pre-hire written exam starting April 14th.

Required Competencies

  • Attention to detail.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with other in a close environment.

Minimum Requirements

  • Hold or actively working on a Bachelors Degree in Aviation or related field.
  • Commercial Pilot Certificate & instrument Rating - Airplane.
  • Flight Instructor Certificate - Airplane (CFI).
  • Valid FAA Medical Certificate.
  • Experience as a student or flight instructor in a Part 141 training program.
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Flight Instructor - Instrument Airplane (CFII).
  • G1000 experience.
