We are looking for a Design Engineer (ICM) Interior Equipment to ensure the technical feasibility and consistency of interior components within a defined project scope. This role focuses on driving the techno-economic convergence of the perimeter while ensuring compliance with project requirements in terms of Quality Cost Delivery and Performance (QCDP).
The successful candidate will be responsible for product definition feasibility validation and coordination with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal integration of interior systems.
Ensure the technical feasibility of the assigned project scope
Drive the techno-economic convergence of the perimeter
Guarantee achievement of QCDP objectives within the defined scope
Lead and contribute to:
BOM (Bill of Materials) consolidation
Product definition and specifications
Material selection
Mass optimization
Functional Performance Requirements (FPR)
Support consolidation of part splitting and component definition
Ensure feasibility of assembly concepts and processes
Validate product and process feasibility including:
Compliance with plastics standards and guidelines
Alignment with partner engineering domains:
Structural components
Assembly
Materials engineering
Logistics
Purchasing
External suppliers/services
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure integration and consistency of solutions
Contribute to the development of interior systems such as:
Instrument panel (dashboard)
Door panels / trims
Interior finishing (decorative elements)
Seating systems
Degree in Mechanical Engineering Automotive Engineering or a related field
Proven experience in design engineering preferably in interior automotive components
Strong knowledge of interior systems (dashboard trims seating finishing components)
Experience in product design BOM management and technical validation
Understanding of manufacturing processes especially plastics and interior materials
Familiarity with automotive development processes and lifecycle
Experience with CAD tools (e.g. CATIA V5/V6) and PLM systems is a plus
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work in a cross-functional and international environment
Good communication and coordination skills
Detail-oriented with a structured and methodical approach
Minimum professional proficiency in English (required)
Additional languages are a plus
Strong technical rigor and ability to manage complex engineering topics
