Job Description
This is a remote position.
The Lead Process Engineer oversees the redesign and digitization of complex business workflows for a large operational modernization program. This role leads process engineering efforts collaborates with IT and business stakeholders ensures quality and compliance and drives the transition from manual paper-based processes to streamlined digital systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead full lifecycle process redesign initiatives from analysis through implementation.
- Assess current-state workflows to identify inefficiencies bottlenecks risks and improvement opportunities.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration with business units IT teams and executive leadership.
- Design optimized future-state digital workflows aligned with organizational goals and user needs.
- Ensure redesigned processes meet quality compliance security and accessibility standards.
- Create project plans timelines resource allocations and milestone tracking for engineering tasks.
- Drive stakeholder engagement and communication to ensure alignment and adoption.
- Develop documentation such as process maps gap analyses corrective action plans and integration roadmaps.
- Support change management activities and guide teams through workflow transitions.
- Provide leadership and oversight to process engineers and analysts supporting the program.
Requirements
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Industrial Engineering Systems Engineering or a related field.
- 7 years of experience in process engineering or business process optimization.
- Proven experience transitioning organizations from manual to digital workflows.
- Experience collaborating with internal IT departments on workflow automation and system integration.
- Understanding of labor relations considerations (union environments preferred).
- Strong project management communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience developing process documentation (As-Is/To-Be maps diagrams SOPs etc.).
- Familiarity with digital platforms such as SharePoint Power Automate or ServiceNow (preferred).
