Sports Trading Operator Domestic Sports

About the Role

As a Domestic Sports Trading Operator within our Risk and Trading team you will support the delivery of a competitive and engaging AFL and Cricket betting experience for our customers. This role is well suited to someone who enjoys sport numbers and fast paced decision making particularly in live environments.

You will assist with pricing and managing player based and live betting markets across AFL with exposure to Cricket and NBL. Working closely with senior traders you will help ensure markets are accurate competitive and well managed during live events. Due to the nature of live sport this role requires regular evening and weekend work.

While strong sports knowledge is highly regarded it is not essential. We are equally open to candidates with strong analytical skills attention to detail and a genuine interest in learning sports trading in a supportive team environment.

Responsibilities

Pricing and Live Trading:

• Ensure all markets go live accurately and on time
• Compile and manage live betting odds where required
• Monitor and adjust pricing to maintain a competitive market offering
• Develop and enhance new markets to improve the overall product

Risk Management:

• Continuously monitor sports information and respond to live events in real time
• Track competitor markets and react to significant market movements
• Manage risk exposure across markets escalating customer activity or bets where required
• Assist with managing customer bet limits in line with risk frameworks

Product and General Trading Support

• Contribute ideas to improve and evolve the domestic sports product
• Price ad hoc market requests from internal stakeholders media or customers
• Actively manage sports targets to support revenue performance
• Support the wider trading team and complete other reasonable duties as required

About You

You are curious analytical and comfortable working with numbers in a fast-moving environment. You may already have a strong interest in AFL or Cricket or you may be earlier in your sports knowledge journey. Either way you are keen to learn ask questions and develop your trading skills.

You bring a customer first mindset enjoy working as part of a team and stay calm and focused when things move quickly.

What You Will Bring

• An interest in AFL and or Cricket with sports knowledge highly regarded but not essential
• An understanding of betting concepts statistics or a strong willingness to learn
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure
• Confidence working in a fast paced live trading environment
• Strong Excel skills and comfort working with data and numbers
• Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach
• A degree in Business Mathematics Statistics or a related discipline or equivalent practical experience

Industry or live betting experience is highly regarded but not required. We are looking for people with the right mindset curiosity and capability to grow into the role.
